We left Ulaanbaatar early morning and couldn’t wait to see Mongolia’s countryside. We soon came across the first nomads, with their large herds of goats, horses and camels. Our final destination was Tsagaan Suvarga, also known as “white stupa”, a 400 meters long and 60 meters tall cliff that looks like a white stupa. We settled for the day with a local family living nearby, where we would spend our first night in a real local ger, the traditional house of the Mongolian nomads. The family welcomed us with traditional hot milk and noodles with goat meat for dinner. To complete the start of our adventure we were treated to a spectacular sunset – welcome to Mongolia!
